Super Bowl 2012: Elizabeth Warren says Patriots will ‘spank’ Giants on ‘Daily Show’

View Photo Gallery: When running for office in Massachusetts, it’s a good idea to take Tom Brady and the Patriots to win Super Bowl XLVI.

It’s no surprise that Elizabeth Warren, Democratic candidate for a U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts, would pick the New England Patriots to beat the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI.

But she chose words that were as subtle as a Rob Gronkowski spike in an appearance on “The Daily Show” on Tuesday night. Jon Stewart asked her which team would win and she replied:

“I hate to tell you this but Tom Brady is… the Pats are going to spank the Giants. It’s just reality.”

Really, there’s only one way to settle this and it isn’t with the Feb. 5 game. Warren must debate Ann Mara, the feisty matriarch of the family that owns the Giants. Before presentation of the NFC Championship trophy on national TV Sunday night, she scolded Terry Bradshaw for picking against her Giants. Warren vs. Mara (even with a broken shoulder) might be better than the game.
