Tony Parker, who says he suffered a scratched cornea in a scuffle at a New York City club last week, is suing the nightspot and its operators for $20 million.
The lawsuit was filed Thursday in State Supreme Court in Manhattan and alleges negligent security and supervision by the W.i.P club in SoHo and its operators after a fight broke out between the entourages of singer Chris Brown and hip-hop star Drake inside the club. Parker said he was “with my friend Chris Brown” when “they started throwing bottles everywhere.”
The San Antonio Spurs star plans to play for the French team in the Olympics next month and expects to be sidelined for a week, wearing what he says is a “therapeutic” contact lens.
“I was with my friend Chris Brown and me and my friends took some punches,” he said in a press conference in Paris last week, “so I'll be missing the start of the French team because I can't do anything for a week except keep the lens in and then take drops.”
