Although Chicago Bears Coach Lovie Smith says running back Matt Forte will be “a game-time decision” tonight, Forte has told teammates that he’ll be ready to play against the Dallas Cowboys.
“He’s made a lot of progress,” Smith said in a WBBM interview. “We’ll get over to the stadium, see how he does then and decide.”
Fox’s Jay Glazer, however, reports that it’s a bit more certain than that. “Sources tell me barring a freak setback Matt Forte is healthy and set to play tonight. He’s telling teammates he will be active, good to go!” Glazer tweeted.
Forte sprained his ankle Sept. 13 in the Bears’ loss to the Green Bay Packers and missed last week’s game. He was limited in practice last week, but participated in Satuday’s workout. Michael Bush would start in Forte’s place if he determines in warmups that he can’t play tonight.
