Delonte West: ‘High Q player/person’ for hire

ISO a veteran guard? This could be your man. (Tony Gutierrez / AP)

Delonte West is back on the job market, and the veteran NBA guard is once again using social media to market his services.

This time, West is laying out his qualifications for everyone to see. On Twitter.

The 29-year-old D.C. native was waived by the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, ending a strange two-week stretch in which he was suspended twice for conduct detrimental to the team. But West maintains he is not the high-risk acquisition many around the NBA believe him to be.

Sure, those all sound like solid qualifications, but you’re all clearly wondering: “How does he perform in a job interview?” Deadspin has you covered here.

West averaged 9.6 points, 3.2 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 24 minutes per game last season, cementing himself as a valuable reserve off the bench. He was also fined $25,000 for giving Jazz forward Gordon Hayward a wet willy during a game.

During last year’s lockout, West applied for a job at Home Depot and eventually landed a gig at Regency Furniture Showrooms in Maryland. He’s been down this road before, and despite his troubles, the man deserves credit for his stick-to-itiveness.
