No sooner did skier Lindsey Vonn leave a Vail, Colo., hospital than she was back on the  slopes.

Vonn, the four-time overall World Cup champion and Olympic downhill gold medalist, was hospitalized for two days last week with what her spokesman said was “severe intestinal pain.” On Friday, she clearly was on the mend, posting on Facebook: “Finally starting to get healthy again! Looks like I had some infection in my tummy but everyone has been taking good care of me. Thanks for all the well wishes! I hope to get back on skis soon, I miss the snow! Xoxo Lv”

Vonn, 28, did some freestyle skiing Saturday in Vail, then resumed giant slalom training Sunday, skiing through a series of gates. “She didn’t lose her skills. Her skiing was right there,” Roland Pfeifer, the U.S. women’s technical coach, said (via the Associated Press). “Obviously, she has a little lack of energy. It’s just a matter of how fast she’s able to charge her battery, talking about starting in Aspen. We go day by day.

“She’s in a very good mood. She likes to be on the slope again. She’s so happy to be back. We had a lot of fun, actually.”

Vonn hasn’t decided whether she’ll participate in slalom and giant slalom races in Aspen over Thanksgiving weekend.  She recently asked to compete in a men’s downhill race, but was turned down by the International Ski Federation.
