If only Lance Armstrong had been as succinct as Jason Sudeikis, in character as Armstrong on “Saturday Night Live,” on his two-part “dopology” interview with Oprah Winfrey. Think of the time that could have been saved, just in searching for OWN.
“All I actually did is steroids, testosterone, human growth hormone, EPO and I replaced all of my blood with better blood. Is that sophisticated? I don’t know. Is it cheating? Maybe. Am I sorry I did it? Yes…ish. P.S. No.”
Pretty much covers it. So much for the guy who doped.
As for the one who was duped, Notre Dame’s Manti Te’o was portrayed by Bobby Moynihan as a simple and confused young man who still thinks Lennay Kekua is his girlfriend despite being, you know, imaginary and dead. It didn’t get any better for him later, when, on “Weekend Update,” Seth Meyers opened by saying:
“This week, Lance Armstrong disappointed the last guy on Earth who still believed him:”
That’s right, Manti Te’o, he meant you.
