Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski denied a report that he put his team through a punishing three-hour practice early Thursday morning after the No. 1 Blue Devils were upset by Miami on Wednesday night.

The buzz started when Dan Patrick, on his radio show, said: “Am I allowed to tell people about what happened with Duke basketball? Now, we’re looking into this. The Duke charter landed in Durham at 12:42 in the morning. Practiced started at 1:30 a.m., finished up at 4:45 a.m. We’re being told by a couple of people who work there at Duke that Coach K was not pleased after being blown out by 27.”

Krzyzewski told CBS Sports.com’s Jeff Goodman that the report was not accurate.

NCAA rules do not permit coaches to hold practices between midnight and 5 a.m. although players may do so as long as only they are present.
