Joe Flacco’s timing could not possibly be better.
The MVP of the Baltimore Ravens’ victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII, Flacco is not signed for 2013, something the Ravens will try to remedy quickly with an offer that will make him among the game’s highest-paid quarterbacks. And he’s going to be a father for the second time.
“[Owner Steve Bisciotti] told me if this happens [a Super Bowl win], I can go pound on his desk and stick it to him,” Flacco said (via the NFL Network). “That’s exactly what I’m going to do.”
Shortly after leaving the Superdome, he headed for a private party with parents and friends at a Bourbon Street bar and quietly announced that he and his wife, Dana, are expecting their second child, USA Today’s Robert Klemko reported. During his Monday press conference, Flacco confirmed the report.
The Flaccos’ first child, Stephen, was born in June 2012 and we’ll have to wait a bit to find out if they’ll beat the 15 months that separate Ravens Coach John Harbaugh and his brother, 49ers Coach Jim Harbaugh.
