Although he practically needed a snorkel to get out of trouble on the sixth hole, Tiger Woods managed to shoot an even-par 70 on the first round of the Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

He had only two birdies on the Champion Course at PGA National, playing with the morning groups. By far the biggest adventure for him came on the sixth hole, where he hit the ball into a water hazard. Woods waded in and, on his second shot, managed to hit the ball 76 yards. He parred the hole.

The early clubhouse leaders were Boo Weekley, Sean O’Hair and Dustin Johnson, who each shot 66 in the morning group of players.
