The New York Giants will take a look at Tim Hightower, the former Washington Redskins running back, while Ahmad Bradshaw pays the Pittsburgh Steelers a visit.
Hightower, 26, is expected to visit the Giants this weekend, the New York Daily News reported. Hightower scored 23 touchdowns over his first three seasons, but was cut by the Redskins last summer. He hasn’t played since tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in late October 2011.
David Wilson and Andre Bown are expected to battle for the starting job and, if Hightower is healthy again, he and Ryan Torain, his former Redskins teammate, could compete for the third spot with Da’Rel Scott, who had knee surgery last season.
Hightower was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in 2008 and traded to the Redskins before the 2011 season. He rushed for 321 yards on 84 carries before hurting his knee against the Panthers in Carolina. He appeared in only one preseason game.
