Maybe this will change their luck.

Michael Jordan, owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, is expected to announce today that the Bobcats will become the Hornets, according to the Associated Press. The Bobcats name became available when the team, which had moved to New Orleans in 2002, changed its name to Pelicans, effective next season.

“I’ll let [the Bobcats] speak to their own time line, but we’re supportive of whatever they do,” Adam Silver, deputy commissioner of the NBA, said last month.

Silver estimated that it would take “about 18 months” for the changeover.
