Maria Sharapova didn’t have any better luck than anyone else on the slippery grass at Wimbledon, falling during her match and falling out of the tournament with a straight-sets loss.

Sharapova joins Victoria Azarenka, the No. 2 women’s seed, and other players who were bounced on a wicked Wednesday. Michelle Larcher de Brito, ranked 131st in the world, knocked out the No. 3 seeded Sharapova, 6-3, 6-4. So much for hopes of a rematch with Serena Williams, to whom she lost in the French Open final earlier this month and verbally sparred over the last week.

With the second and third seeds out, Williams is looking like a cinch to win at Wimbledon again — if she can stay on her feet.
