A lake in the Bristol, Conn., hometown of Aaron Hernandez, the former New England Patriots tight end who has been charged with murder, is the target of a search by police divers this morning.

State police were referring inquiries about the search of Pine Lake to prosecutors in Massachusetts, where Hernandez has been held without bail since his June 26 arrest for the murder of semipro football player Odin Lloyd. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to the June 17 murder of Lloyd, whose body was found about a mile from Hernandez’s home in North Attleboro, Mass.

Although prosecutors have released screengrabs of home surveillance video of Hernandez allegedly holding a gun as he walked through his house on June 17, a murder weapon has not been found despite multiple searches of his home and other places.
