The Richmond Flying Squirrels of the Eastern League will hold a promotional night that they’re billing as a “Salute to Scandal” Thursday night at the ol’ ballpark.

But let’s face it. This really is Anthony Weiner night, given that there’ll be $1 hot dogs and the Flying Squirrels, the San Francisco Giants’ Class AA affiliate, are inviting fans to tweet photos of themselves enjoying those dollar dogs.

What could possibly go wrong with that?

To be fair, the former representative and New York mayoral candidate who has been embroiled in another sexting scandal isn’t the only famous name involved in the promotion. There’ll be a “Brett Favre football throw” and a “Tiger Woods closest-to-the-pin challenge.”

“Scandal night is meant to be a fun, tongue-in-cheek night and what hotter of a scandal right now than Anthony Weiner,” Todd “Parney” Parnell, vice-president and chief operating officer of the Flying Squirrels, said on the team’s website. “His scandal just couldn’t have come at a better time in regards to the Flying Squirrels promotional calendar.”

That’s probably just what Anthony Weiner is thinking.
