As he sits in a Massachusetts jail and awaits trial on murder and gun-related charges, Aaron Hernandez wrote that he worries about his baby daughter.

“I miss my little girl terribly an [sic] my biggest fear of all is she won’t daddy,” Hernandez, 23, wrote Collin Imm, who gave a copy of the letter to RadarOnline.com.It was postmarked July 17 and  “She said daddy [the] first time or should I say “Da Da” and [I] had to hear it from jail.”

Hernandez’s daughter, Avielle Janelle, was born last November to his fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins. In recent weeks, she been been drawn into the investigation as authorities look into whether she might have played a role in disposing of the gun used to kill Odin Lloyd, who was dating Jenkins’s sister, Shaneah. The murder weapon still has not been found.

Hernandez, 23, remains in the Bristol County House of Corrections and is scheduled for a probable cause hearing Thursday. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and, as he did in another letter that was shared publicly by a fan, urged his correspondents to keep the faith.

“I’m a great dude,” Hernandez told Imm. “Don’t believe all the negative publicity.”
