Jake Locker injury requires further tests

Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker remains hospitalized today, undergoing tests  after suffering an odd injury to his right hip Sunday afternoon in the game against the New York Jets.

Locker immediately grabbed his hip after taking a hard hit from Jets defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson, followed by one from Quinton Coples. He was carted off the field and taken to a Nashville hospital. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that he is likely to be out four-to-six weeks and the NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport says the team believes that he does not have a dislocated hip.

Locker was rolling when he was hurt on a plan on which no flags were thrown. He’d completed 18 of 24 passes for 149 yards and three touchdowns when he was hurt with 11 minutes, 14 seconds left in the third quarter. Ryan Fitzpatrick replaced Locker and the Titans moved to 3-1 with a 38-13 win.

“This is the worst I’ve felt after a victory like this in a long time,” Titans offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains said. “I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I know he was hurt. If he misses one play in the game, then he was in pain.”
