LeBron James doesn’t want to talk about free agency

If this summer is being set up for “The Decision II,” LeBron James isn’t tipping his hand.

The NBA MVP and Miami Heat star toyed with the media today on the topic of whether he’ll choose to become a free agent this summer and coquettishly joked about just how many NBA titles would satisfy him.

“For me, being a leader of this team, I owe it to this organization, to my teammates to not get involved in it, to not talk about it,” James said of the possibility of becoming a free agent. “I’m not going to address it.”

Perhaps not, but he’s going to be asked about it endlessly. Maybe, if the team makes its fourth straight appearance in the NBA Finals, he’ll go there.

“Once we get to that point, I’ll address it,” he said. “I don’t think it’s appropriate to talk about it right now.”

James, looking even bigger and stronger than last season, wouldn’t divulge what he’d done to improve, but admitted: “You guys are tired of hearing me say this, but I got better. I am a better basketball player than I was last year in every aspect.”

And he isn’t satisfied with three championships. “I haven’t accomplished it [my goals]. … Not 11, not 12, not 13, not 14,” he joked. “Just messin’ around. That will be on the front of the damn page right there. ‘LeBron at 50 guarantees championship.’”
