George Parros, the Montreal Canadiens’ forward and enforcer, suffered a concussion Tuesday night when his head slammed against the ice during a contretemps with Colton Orr of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Parros, who was knocked out when he hit the ice chin-first in his second fight of the game with Orr, tweeted just before 1 a.m.:

It was a scary sight for a few monents as Parros lay motionless on the ice, then was taken off on a stretcher. Canadiens Coach Michel Therrien said Parros was “alert” in the dressing room, but he was taken to a Montreal hospital for evaluation.

“You never want to see a guy get hurt like that,” said Orr (via the Toronto Star). “It was a scary situation. I just hope he’s all right. It happened fast. I slipped and he came on top of me. The ice isn’t going to give.”
