Kobe Bryant will get paid today. Oh, my, will Kobe Bryant get paid today.

The Los Angeles Lakers star will receive a $24,363,044 paycheck from the team in a balloon payment that his contract specifies is due Nov. 1, the Los Angeles Times reports. The remaining $6.1 million, certainly nothing to sneeze at, will be paid over the season.

Balloon payments are limited to 80 percent of the contract and that’s where Bryant is with a $30.5 million contract.
