The top three teams in the BCS standings remained the same in the latest standings, but Baylor has closed in on third-place Ohio State after dismantling Texas Tech 63-38 Saturday.

The Bears’ high-powered offense leads the nation in yards, yards per game, points and points per game.

Baylor will travel to Oklahoma State, which is ranked 10th in the BCS standings and just a game behind the Bears in the Big 12, and to TCU the following week before wrapping up the regular season against Texas.

Also moving up a spot was Oregon from sixth to fifth place. The Ducks are ranked the highest of any team with one loss and will play at Arizona and Oregon State the next two weeks.

Top-ranked Alabama plays Chattagnooga at home next week before traveling to Auburn, which also moved up a spot in the BCS standings after a thrilling come-from-behind victory on Saturday against Georgia.

The Crimson Tide has a BCS average best of .9981, while No. 2 Florida State is .9661 and third-place Ohio State at .8869.

Florida State has continued to rout its opponents, beating the last two – Wake Forest and Syracuse – with a 59-3 scoreline. The ACC-leading Seminoles will take on Idaho next week before playing at Florida.

The Buckeyes are ahead of the Bears in both the Harris and USA Today coaches’ polls, but behind in the AP rankings. Ohio State plays Indiana in its next match-up and finishes the regular season at Michigan.

The SEC, which has seven teams in the BCS standings,  has won the last seven national championships. Duke, which upset Miami Saturday, entered the top 25 for the first time since 1994.
