Winter Classic: Michigan’s Big House gets NHL makeover (video)

The NHL’s Winter Classic may be just that this year, with a dandy rivalry game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings unfolding on a snowy day in the Big House in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Here’s what to expect: There may be an attendance record because Michigan Stadium seats over 100,000 (that’s over 400,000 if you’re counting frozen cheeks). The game is on NBC and it gets underway at 1 p.m. The Red Wings and Maple Leafs, regional rivals, have played each other close historically. Over 645 regular-season meetings, the Red Wings have a 276-273-96 edge.
