Chris Harris to have MRI, may miss AFC championship game

The Denver Broncos are expected to find out later Monday just how long they’ll be without cornerback Chris Harris.

He isn’t likely to play Sunday in the AFC championship game against the New England Patriots and will undergo an MRI to determine whether he’ll be lost for the rest of Denver’s playoff run.

Harris, one of the Broncos’ top defenders, hurt his knee and ankle in the third quarter of the Broncos’ 24-14 victory over the San Diego Chargers. Initial X-rays were negative. Denver was up 17-0 when Harris was injured and Quentin Jammer found that he was a frequent target for Philip Rivers’s passes.
