Tom Brady dealt with a cast of teammates that seemed to changed every week during the regular season, but now there’s a report that he was dealing with ligament damage in his throwing hand, too.
The NFL Network’s Albert Breer reports that his hand has healed, but that he “had to fight through it then.” The injury, according to Breer, was a type that doesn’t require surgery.
Observers will remember that photos of his swollen hand surfaced in late October, which is when Breer says he was hurt. There’s been no mention of that, of course, from the notoriously private Patriots — although Brady’s right shoulder appears on the injury report seemingly weekly. And the earth briefly spun off its axis last week when he missed practice Wednesday, reportedly because of an illness. The Patriots weren’t talking about that, either. But a hand injury makes sense.
Maybe that’s why no one would high five him.
