Champ Bailey: Redskins trade “best thing to happen to my career”

It’s been a while since the Washington Redskins traded Champ Bailey for Clinton Portis, but Bailey wasn’t taking the high road when asked about the deal during Super Bowl XLVIII Media Day in Newark, N.J.

Bailey, who was in the last year of his contract, was traded (a draft pick was involved, too, because Portis had a year left on his contract) just before the 2004 season. At 35, he is in his first Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos.
