It’s Johnny Manziel Day at the NFL Scouting Combine and here’s what we’ve learned so far:

Although Johnny Football promised he’d measure at “72 inches on the dot,” he did not. This used to be a big deal in the NFL, but Russell Wilson kind of put the kibosh on that. Manziel came in at 5-11 3/4 and 207 pounds. Where it really mattered, though, Manziel thrilled the measurers and pundits with 9 7/8-inch hands. He drew a crowd at his press conference and was unbothered by failing to reach 72 inches in height.

“I feel like I play 10 feet tall,” he told reporters. “I play with a lot of heart and passion.”

Just where the Texas A&M quarterback and 2012 Heisman Trophy winner will be taken in May’s NFL draft is uncertain. Manziel will run and do other drills at the combine, but he will not throw. Instead, he plans to do that on a pro day at A&M. As for the combine, where he’ll address the media, he chatted up the New England Patriots’ Tom Brady, who, quarterback guru George Whitfield told ESPN, advised him “to ignore the noise.”

Since Brett Favre said Manziel reminded him of “a young Brett Favre,” here’s a comparison:
