Eagles most likely to sign Mark Sanchez, reports say

There was a time when Mark Sanchez was leading the New York Jets to AFC championship games and seemed destined for Gotham greatness.

All of that ended, though, with broken dreams, a butt fumble, a horrible preseason coaching decision that led to a shoulder injury that ended his season and his release last Friday. Now, it appears that he may be getting a fresh start in, of all places, Philadelphia, according to a report by ESPN’s Chris Mortensen. However, the New York Daily News reported that, while the Eagles are the frontrunners, the team is “not a lock” to sign Sanchez.

The move would complete a QB switcheroo, with Michael Vick signing with the New York Jets and Sanchez coming on as the backup to Nick Foles and Matt Barkley, Sanchez’s successor at USC.

No matter where he ends up, Sanchez will get a fresh start and the chance to put the butt fumble behind him. And the Jets? they  have to show for the Sanchez years is a tattoo.
