Sean Taylor remembered by fellow NFL players, fans on his 31st birthday

April 1 is the birthday of Sean Taylor, who was murdered in 2007, and Washington Redskins and NFL fans remembered him Tuesday with a deluge of tweets that caused the safety’s name to trend nationally.

Taylor would have been 31 and, while it’s odd to see all the “happy birthday” wishes, it’s clear that people haven’t forgotten the promise he showed in his brief NFL career. Among those remembering him were Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and the Miami Hurricanes, for whom Taylor played in college. Clinton Portis, his Redskins teammate and a former player at the U as well, tweeted:
