Blake Griffin faces suspension as Clippers play for No. 2 seed (video)

A technical foul could have implications for the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA playoffs.

Blake Griffin drew the T on Tuesday night when he swung his arm as he tried to block Denver’s Timofey Mozgov and struck him in the face. The technical was Griffin’s 16th of the season — and a 16th T means a one-game suspension. Which is important since Griffin would have to sit out tonight’s regular-season finale against Portland, barring action by Commissioner Adam Silver.

The Clippers won Tuesday and that, along with an Oklahoma City loss to Detroit and a Clippers victory over Portland, would move L.A. to the second seed and a matchup against the winner of the Dallas-Memphis regular-season finale. More critically, the Clippers would have the home-court advantage if they play the Thunder in the second round.
