Quick notes:

(Associated Press)

– 21-year-old Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is on loan from Chelsea to Atletico and is set to play against his parent club Tuesday after UEFA said Chelsea couldn’t prevent that from happening.

– Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho has reached the semifinals for the fifth straight season (the last four with Real Madrid). He is seeking to become the first coach to win the Champions League title with three different teams (Porto 2004, Real Madrid 2010). Chelsea hasn’t lost to a Spanish team in the Champions League since 2006, unbeaten in 15 straight.

– Atletico is in the semifinals for the first time since 1974, when it lost to Bayern Munich in the finals. It currently sits atop the La Liga standings with four matches left.

– Atletico Manager Diego Simeone is seen as a possible replacement for David Moyes, who was fired as Manchester United manager on Tuesday. (More on Manchester United’s troubles here.)
