After the very public divorce between Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren, it seemed like the most unlikely thing in the world was that the next woman he became involved with, whomever she might be, would find common ground with his ex-wife.
But that next woman happened to be Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn and US Weekly reports that the two women have become good friends. Nordegren sought out Vonn, whose relationship with Woods became public in March 2013, because she knew Vonn would be spending a lot of time with the Woods kids, Charlie and Sam.

“After meeting her, she found she actually liked her,” the source said. “You’d think it would be weird, but Elin loves Lindsey and they talk all the time. Elin likes that Lindsey is a strong woman.”
Nordegren and Woods divorced in 2010 after his serial infidelity came to light the day after Thanksgiving in 2009. Nordegren, who received $110 million in their settlement, told People magazine in an August 2010 story that she was putting the past behind her. “I know I will have to come to forgiveness and acceptance of what has happened for me to go on and be happy in the future,” she said. “And I know I will get there eventually.”
She has done that so successfully that, US Weekly reports that the two women, Woods and the kids vacationed together recently. “Lindsey is really good for Tiger. She’s strong, opinionated, and keeps him in line,” the source told US Weekly. “Elin found that they are very similar and have a lot in common. They laugh and talk like they have been girlfriends forever.”
