Carmelo Anthony doesn’t have to play basketball, so he’ll just catch a shark

Next on the agenda for Carmelo: reeling in a gigantic contract in free agency. (AP Photo/John Minchillo)

Sure, the NBA playoffs have had a lot of fascinating characters so far, from unlikely heroes to not-so-unlikely super-villains.

But have the NBA playoffs featured a shark hunter yet? Didn’t think so.

Fortunately for Carmelo Anthony, he doesn’t have anything as pesky as postseason games to interfere with his pursuit of a fairly deadly catch. And so he (or someone) posted to his Instagram account footage of a shark on a line, being pulled toward a fishing boat. (Warning: bad language.)

We don’t actually see Melo in that footage, but another Instagram post from 2013 at least demonstrates that he (along with wife LaLa) knows a thing or two about fishing.

This former editor and part-time writer at The Post is now happy to prove that if you combine 'blowhard' and 'blaggard,' you get 'blogger.' He previously had used 'Desmond Bieler' as his byline, but feels that shortening the first name to 'Des' nicely conveys his ever-decreasing gravitas. He also covers Fantasy Football.
