“SNL” skewers Clippers owner Donald Sterling

“Saturday Night Live” took aim at Donald Sterling in its cold opening.

Sterling has dominated headlines for over a week, since a recording on which he makes racially insensitive remarks became public and the Los Angeles Clippers owner was banned from the league. That made him a prime candidate for satire and this spoof, which features Bobby Moynihan as Sterling, delivers a few jabs. (As when Moynihan/Sterling says in an imaginary press conference: “My reputation has gotten a real black eye, which we all know is the worst kind of eye.”) The sketch mostly misses, though, until the arrival of Kenan Thompson near the end.
