The weekend started off promising enough with a Saturday morning Instagram from Josh Wise, the “dogedriver,” who was ready to take on the track at Sonoma.
Unfortunately, though, for the only car sponsored by a cryptocurrency, Sunday’s race did not pan out as planned.
Long day @RaceSonoma, we were plagued by fuel pressure issues all day. We will get it figured out and go on to the next one

Wise finished 40th out of 43 entrants, which is below his best showing at the race in 2012 when he finished in 30th place out of 43 drivers. But things could’ve gone worse. For instance, three cars, including one driven by Matt Kenseth of Joe Gibbs’s squad, weren’t running by the time the race ended. The Dogecar, though? As Wise notes, it’s on the the next one.
As for the winners of Sonoma first, second and third place went to Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt, Jr., respectively.
