Bill Simmons’s fanboy act took center stage during ESPN’s NBA draft coverage

ESPN’s Bill Simmons, as you may have heard, likes the Boston Celtics and dislikes the Miami Heat, or at least the fact that the Heat is the big dog of the Eastern Conference (pending LeBron’s next decision). So at this point, anything he does or says on the air isn’t all that surprising.

Here’s Simmons not realizing he was on camera when his beloved Celtics took James Young of Kentucky with the 17th pick in the NBA draft on Thursday night.

And here’s Simmons reacting to news that the Heat had traded for the rights to Connecticut point guard Shabazz Napier:

Simmons said on the air that he was “tired of teams helping Miami. They’ve been helping them for the last four years. Enough.”

His performance garnered some snickers among the twittering class.
