After a very smart performance, Brad Keselowski did a kind of dumb thing.

He didn’t know when to say when during the victory celebration after the Quaker State 400 Saturday night and needed four stitches to close a cut on his hand.

“We were playing around with some champagne, and I told my good friend I should have stuck with beer,” Keselowski joked Sunday (via the Sporting News). “We had too much fun with champagne and one of the bottles broke and I cut my hand open. It’s no big deal.”

Keselowski hit the bottle on the podium in victory lane at Kentucky Speedway.

“I hit it on something,” Keselowski said. “I think I hit it on the corner of the podium and then it broke. I don’t know. I was trying to get the top off and shaking it at the same time, and people were spraying me and I couldn’t really see all that well. It was just one of them deals.”

He doesn’t expect that he’ll have a problem driving next Saturday at at Daytona International Speedway.
