U.S. soccer fans already know DeAndre Yedlin. The 20-year-old plays for the Seattle Sounders as a right back. But during the last few weeks, while Yedlin played for Team USA in the World Cup, European clubs started noticing the young star, as well. In particular, Yedlin has piqued the interest of the Premier League’s Liverpool and Italy’s Serie A team Roma. ProSoccerTalk writes:

“The kid who has just one full Major League Soccer season under his belt is suddenly one of the hottest properties in the right back slot. Many were questioning Jurgen Klinsmann for taking him to the World Cup. Not now.”

Sounders General Manager Adrian Hanauer, however, has said not so fast. He released a statement Sunday assuring Sounders fans and the world that Yedlin is staying in Seattle, at least for this season:

“DeAndre has had a very good season in Seattle and obviously had a fantastic World Cup. This has drawn lots of interest for him from leagues around the world. For now, DeAndre is in Seattle and we need him to help us win our upcoming games against Portland. If something transpires with a foreign team, we will announce it.”
