Mark Jackson did some street-corner preaching

Despite winning 51 games with the usually downtrodden Warriors, Mark Jackson was fired as coach shortly after the season ended. The move came as a surprise to many, but some NBA observers had already noted friction between Jackson and the team’s new owners. One of the sources of that friction, according to speculation, was about how Jackson had imbued the Warriors’ locker room with his Christian beliefs.

Whatever the reason(s) for his ouster, there is little doubting Jackson’s sincere devotion to his faith. Further evidence of that came recently in a video shot on Saturday, which shows Jackson preaching on a Los Angeles street corner. Jackson and his wife are founders of, and pastors in, True Love Worship Center International, which is based in that city.

He previously had used 'Desmond Bieler' as his byline, but feels that shortening the first name to 'Des' nicely conveys his ever-decreasing gravitas. He also covers Fantasy Football.
