As one sport’s World Cup winds down, another one’s hype is just getting started. The 2014 FIBA World Cup is set to tip off in Spain on Aug. 30 and run through Sept. 14. Unlike in soccer, the United States is a favorite to win this tournament, which until this year was known as the FIBA World Championship. The Americans have won the event four times since it began in 1950, including in 2010 when the tournament was last held, and is only second to the former country of Yugoslavia, which has won the trophy five times.

Yes, it’s time to get hyped, which is why Team USA’s Anthony Davis, who plays for the New Orleans Pelicans, is on the latest cover of Slam magazine wearing the team’s snazzy new uniform.

Do you like it?

Some of the other famous names on the U.S. men’s national team who might don the new duds in August include the New York Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony, the Washington Wizards’ Bradley Beal, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant, the Indiana Pacers’ Paul George, the L.A. Clippers’ Blake Griffin, the San Antonio Spurs’ Kawhi Leonard, the Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose and, of course, the Miami Heat’s L.A. Lakers’ Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James [NBA team pending].
