Joel Embiid makes Twitter play for Kim Kardashian, is informed she’s married

Joel Embiid was taken No. 3 overall in June’s NBA draft and quickly established himself as a must-follow on Twitter. Which is one use of his time, because he won’t be quickly establishing himself as anything on the basketball court; the center is recovering from a broken bone in his right foot.

Shortly after joining the 76ers, Embiid began a Twitter campaign imploring then-free agent LeBron James to join his team.

It was not a successful campaign, obviously.

Today found Embiid on a different recruiting trail.

That also was not successful, for at least one reason that apparently wasn’t obvious to Embiid at the time.

Uh, yeah, dude, she’s kind of off the market. Some guy named Kanye West, whom you might have heard of, even if you didn’t catch wind of their super-lavish wedding.

That’s alright, though, Joel, we appreciate the social-media efforts. It’ll be a while before we see you on the hardwood, so keep the tweets a-coming!

He previously had used 'Desmond Bieler' as his byline, but feels that shortening the first name to 'Des' nicely conveys his ever-decreasing gravitas. He also covers Fantasy Football.
