Conference realignment likely drove many a fan (and reporter, and editor) to drink. It’s a little late in the game, but Maker’s Mark has everyone covered.
Per the Louisville Courier-Journal, the bourbon maker is commemorating Louisville’s move to the ACC by putting Cardinals Athletic Director Tom Jurich’s face and the ACC logo on 8,500 bottles and selling them for a suggested price of $50. Proceeds will go toward fundraising for the school’s proposed Academic Center of Excellence, which will aid Louisville’s student-athletes.

Maker’s Mark has partnered with Louisville in the past to raise money for the project, putting men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino on 12,600 bottles and former football coach Charlie Strong on 8,400. The partnership has raised $2.5 million for the academic center. To put it another way, bourbon has so far paid for about 17 percent of the projected $14 million price tag.
Is there anything it can’t do?
