When he’s not making wishes come true for adorable children, Pittsburgh Pirates slugger Andrew McCutchen is spreading joy among baseball-loving centenarians.
It all started in June when McCutchen found the announcement of Regen T. Green’s 100th birthday in a local paper. According to Pittsburgh’s local CBS affiliate, it said Green “loves the Pittsburgh Pirates, especially Andrew McCutchen, casinos and spending time with loved ones.”
While McCutchen couldn’t take her to the blackjack tables, he did answer with a video and an invite to a game.
And guess what? She did! Green may not have thrown the first pitch like 105-year-old Agnes McKee, but she did get to meet her sports idol who was spotted giving Green a T-Shirt that read, “The Gene Green is 100,” CBS reports.
