Tim Howard announced last week that he’ll be taking a year off from the U.S. men’s national team to spend more time with his kids during lulls in play for Everton, his English Premier League team. Apparently, he’ll be promoting a book, too.

The Associated Press has more on Howard’s upcoming memoirs:

Howard has penned a memoir that will be published Dec. 9 by HarperCollins Publishers. The publisher said Monday that “The Goalkeeper” will be available in adult and young adult editions.

In a statement issued through HarperCollins, the 35-year-old Howard says he was eager to share the highs and lows of his life and career, including his battles with Tourette’s Syndrome, and hopes to inspire others.

Maybe he’ll also talk about that time he hung out with Coach Lasso:

After spending the first 17 years of his Post career writing and editing, Matt and the printed paper had an amicable divorce in 2014. He's now blogging and editing for the Early Lead and the Post's other Web-based products.
