Michael Sam could be headed to the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad

Don’t count Michael Sam out just yet. The first openly gay football player ever to be selected in the NFL draft may be getting a second chance with the Dallas Cowboys after he was cut from the St. Louis Rams over the weekend. Per ESPN:

The Cowboys plan to bring Michael Sam to Dallas for a physical Wednesday, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

If all goes well, Sam will be a Cowboy, signed to the team’s practice squad, the source said.

It’s not a done deal, but this sounds like a much better invitation for Sam than his alternative, offered up rather dubiously by the WWE on Monday
