Ahead of NALEO conference, Romney camp keeps focus on economy
Will Mitt Romney give any further hints to his immigration position when he speaks at Thursday’s National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) conference?
Senate Republicans, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, appear to think so.
But on a conference call Wednesday, Romney advisers indicated that their focus remains on the economy, not on immigration.
“Will have a few things more there to say about immigration,” Romney adviser Lanhee Chen told reporters of NALEO. He added that when it comes to the economy, Obama “has failed the Latino community.”
