Afghanistan exit: Don’t hold your breath

Obama and Romney have both implied that all U.S. troops will leave Afghanistan by the end of 2014. Don't hold your breath.

Under Obama's plan, U.S. combat forces would all depart Afghanistan 26 months from now, but that doesn't mean everybody. He'd keep an unspecified number of Special Operations forces in the country, as well as military trainers, but the total could easily exceed 10,000 troops.
