BriWi sends chocolates

Savvy television viewers, be on the lookout for fawning pieces on the current season of “Rock Center with Brian Williams.” Sweets, after all, corrupt. Three Brian Williams chocolates arrived at my office via FexEx in a small box. Through the plastic container and shrink-wrapping, they appear gooey and rich. The one in the middle is a bit disfigured, revealing some white filling or something like that. A spokeswoman for NBC News indicates it’s a “delicious Rock Center-related gift.” Oops, that settles it. Washington Post internal standards declare, “We accept no gifts from news sources.” No apparent loophole for boutiquey little chocolates sent from high-profile TV news magazines.
