With each public appearance, Herman Cain’s denials deepen. In a Fox News interview just before noon, Cain said that allegations that he had sexually harassed female employees when he headed the National Restaurant Association were “totally baseless.”
Then, in a luncheon appearance at the National Press Club, he broke out in song (See the video below.) Of course, that was after he contended that a “thorough investigation” by the restaurant association had found that the charges had no merit.
That sounded good from the podium. But with each appearance, Cain kicks up at least one new tidbit that bears checking. In the Fox segment, that tidbit was that he’d been unaware of any settlements that the association may have concluded with the complainants. Now it’s the whole thing about an exonerating investigation.
With each utterance, the Beltway media’s workload gets heavier.
