Why can’t the Washington Times tell the truth about Romney?

((Washington Times front page photo courtesy Newseum))

Banner headline from today’s Washington Post: “Romney takes fight to Obama.” Denver Post: “Round 1: Romney.” Corresponding headline for the Washington Times: “Clash for middle-class voters.” Is that the reddest meat that the Washington Times can offer its readers? The conservative candidate wallops his liberal counterpart, and the Beltway’s conservative daily whiffs on telling the story in its headline. Tell the truth, Washington Times, even if doing so means saying good things about Mitt Romney.
