It takes some work to stay up-to-date with Fox News’s attempts to keep the tragic events in Benghazi, Libya on Sept. 11, 2012, in the day’s news. In early October, at the start of the government shutdown, “Fox & Friends” host Steve Doocy declared, “As it turns out, it looks as if more personnel were sent in to the World War II memorial to keep people out than the State Department sent to Benghazi.” In a mid-October edition of “The Five,” co-host Andrea Tantaros quipped, “And the difference, though, between this and Benghazi: No one has died yet from Obamacare. But…this touches every single person. They can’t run from this.”
Just to keep the references coming, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly last night ripped President Obama for the technical disaster of Obamacare, saying, “Once again your administration botched it. It’s Benghazi, Libya, redux.” O’Reilly didn’t offer details on how the Web site disaster compares to the long night of fighting and chaos in which four U.S. personnel lost their lives in a terrorist attack on U.S. facilities.
