Taiwanese tech site Digitimes got gadget lovers all excited with its report last Friday claiming that the iPad 3 would join the iPhone 5 with a September debut. Citing its supplier sources, the site reported that both gadgets would hit stores in October.
But a report from TG Daily cites FBR Capital Markets analyst Craig Berger as saying that although there will be a new tablet this year, it’s more likely to be an “iPad 2 Plus.” Also citing Berger, the International Business Times said the next iPad would change the iPad's display resolution from its current pixel density of 132 pixels per inch (ppi) to 250-300 ppi.
Berger also said that no production schedule has been confirmed, though he believes the tablet will launch late in 2011.
